- There is a holy well in Derrycrag and it is called St. Richard's. There is another in Athanass, that well is called after St. Ann.
People go to Derrycrag on the three last Saturdays in July. There are devotions there every year. They go around the well three times kissing a large stone each time they go around it. Money is put in a big box there. There is a cure for sores in the water. Some people drink a cup of water out of the well. People put up flowers and hang a rag up a bush also.
People go to Athanass every evening in the month of May. They put up flowers and they also tie ribbons on a whitethorn bush beside it. They also drink water out of it. It's said that a man once saw St. Ann riding on an ass their.
Once a woman brought home the water to drink, she forgot to drink it, she put it in the kettle to boil, and if it were there since it would not boil.- Faisnéiseoir
