- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Then Jack was locked up and next day one of the dogs was sent for a can of water. When he got the chance to get out he went to where Jack was and released him. Jack was very proud of what one of his dogs had done for him.
The dogs were delighted to have their master again. They started off again to seek Jack's fortune. They travelled on some days until they met with a Giant. Jack told the Giant that the dogs could do everything they were told to do. The Giant said that could not be and he would kill Jack.
The Giant told his servants to sharpen their knives to kill him. Jack was taken out to be killed and he called the dogs by their names. They seized the Giant and Jack got away.
Jack and the three dogs travelled to a king's palace. When they entered the place Jack told the king about the dogs. He told Jack to take in the dogs until he would see them.
The king was delighted when he saw the dogs. He said to Jack that he would give him his whole kingdom if the dogs did everything they were told so Jack commanded one of the dogs to play music and the other to dance.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
