As for Kilcorban or Kilcorbain, there is not to be found Corban or Carban in the Martyrologies, Lanigan 421 Notes 178 and 179 quotes from the four masters at A.D. 499 ( 500 " S. Cerbanus episcopus de Feart - Cerbhain Prope Temoriam obit," and from the annals of Innisfallen; A. 500 Quias Corpain episcopic Inferte "which entries undoubtedly are concerned with the same person though Lanigan thought his want of knowing Irish is tempted to create a see of Iferte and identify it with Ardfert.
Iferte, of course, contains the preposition and the word fert (Feart) and is here equivalent to "in Feart."
(Cerbain) of the four masters.
We have as yet no authority to translate this Bishop form Tara to Kilcorban.
Father Hogan in his Onomasticon gives two references for Cill Corbain, one to the annals of L. Ce. , i . 421.
Another to O'Daly's Tribes of Ireland
