- Hallow E'en falls on the last day of October.
It is a great feast throughout all Ireland.
The country boys have a lot of fun on that night, they bring cabbage and turnips, and throw them at their neighbors' doors.
My mother buys nuts, apples, and a barn-brack with a ring in it. It is said that the person (that) who gets the ring, should be married first.
We play a lot of games on Hallow E'en night, such as blind man's buff, it is our favourite games. We also put apples in a tub of water, and try to catch them with our mouths, sometimes we get our hair all wet.
Another one of our games is tying an apple to the ceiling, and trying to get a bite out of it without ever touching it(continues on next page)- Collector
