- A man named james Meehan, lived in Kilcoo about sixty seven years ago. He was a very odd kind of a man. He was married to a woman from Glenfarne, and he had no family. He always kept money in the house, he never had any paper money in the house, all in half crowns.
He never went to any funeral or paid any offerings, he would go to the wake house alright, but he would pay no offerings.
When he himself died there was nobody at the funeral only four men and a little boy of 14 or 15 years, who now tells the story. The corpse was left on Kilcoo hill and the four men had to carry the corpse from Kilcoo down to Garrison, a distance of four miles without ever resting.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
