- The Local Forge
There is one forge in the district and it is owned by Francis Kerrigan. There is only one smith working in this forge and it is situated in the village of Kiltyclogher. The forge is like a barn with one door and one window and a thatched roof. The implements used by the smith in work are a sledge, a knife, a rash, a drill, pinchers, and a tongs. The smith shoes horses adn asses. He makes shovels and turf. Shoeing cart wheels is done in the open just in front of the forge. Forge water is said to take away warts. The smiths are said to be strong. - You are not logged in, but you are welcome to contribute a transcription anonymously.
