The father asked him would he know the girl again and he said he would. They set out and found the girl and invited her to the house. They showed her all the treasures and she said "they are good and very good only keep adding to them." Old Gobán then saw that she would make a suitable wife for his son so all arrangements were made and they were married. One morning Gobán and his son set out for London. When they went some distance Gobán said to his son "Why can't you be shortening the road" and he said he could not. Gobán made up his mind to turn back. That night the wife asked Gobán's son what happened to them and he said that his father asked him to shorten the road and he could not. She said "sure that was easy. Why did you not tell funny stories and jokes. After some time they began on their jorney again and landed in London.
