By this time it had faired up and was fine and dry, so Seamus set for the road once again in the direction of Sligo with his sack of oats on the ass's back and thankful he was that the tramp hadn't stolen the oats as well as the coat. However Seamus was not long on the road when he met a little old man. Seamus bid him the time of day. The little man stood and asked Seamus what he had in the bag and where he was going, so Seamus told him his whole business, and he was trying to get some money to give to the landlord so as not to be evicted. The little man who had a very wizened wrinkled old face eyed Seamus very sharply, and asked him if he would sell the oats to
