'Sty on the eyelid'
The man who has the cure of the sty is Myles Loughlin, Cornamuchla North, Dowra. The way he makes the cure is, he rubs his hand on the eye three times making the sign of the cross each time.
'Sprain'
'Goosesome' or fat of the goose was and still is used to cure sprains.
When a person killed a goose the fat was kept safe and airtight so that if anyone sprained his leg, arm or any other part it was rubbed to the sprained part.
'Sprains'
It was made from a part of the goose called the 'Sweet-bit'.
When a goose was killed, that part was kept airtight until a member of the family would happen to sprain any of his limbs. Then this part was tied round the limb and in a short time it would be alright.
