- I. Burning: -
In our parish there is an historical ruin. It is in Kilmorna and it was the home of "The O'Mahoneys". It was built over 380 years ago, and is situated on the banks of the river Feale. It is now an old ruin with only two walls standing. There were beautiful terraces around it, leading down to the bank of the river.
There was also an avenue about a half mile long leading to the public road with a beautiful entrance. There were three lodges near by where the avenue ended. In those lodgers caretakers and workmen lived, and some of them are there at this present day. The coach house and stables are also intact.
The estate was owned in the early time by a Miss O'Connor before the O'Mahoneys got it. The latter came from Co. Wicklow where at present one of the(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
