About eighty years ago a publican lived in Church St, Listowel. At that time public houses used be open at seven in the morning. This man's name was O'Sullivan. On certain mornings on the stroke of seven sharp he came to his front door, blew a blast in the horn and the first person to arrive after hearing the horn would get a glass of whiskey gratis.
A landlord called Collis owned all the district around Tarbert. He had a farm, which a tenant had given up, and he put this up for sale.
