Shane shot it and all the feathers flew out of the bird and made a bridge of feathers. The old man came out and the work was done. Old Grey Norris made up his mind to kill Shane. The eagle came and told Shane. He told him to take the oldest horse in the stable and to take three pups which the hound had. When the dinner was over Shane took the horse and the pups. The hound missed her pups gone, and she followed. When she was near, Shane threw her a pup, and she carried it home and came on again, and Shane threw her the second pup. She came the third time and Shane gave her the pup and she took it home. Old Grey Norris urged her to follow Shane again but she wouldn't. Shane rode on until he came to the house of the first giant. He went to bed and slept. Next day he left again and the giant gave him a horse to take to his
