- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)blew over these parts. The force of the gale was terrific. It uprooted trees and took the roofs of many houses and buildings. One instance, it blew the covering of a cow shed and carried it two miles away.
Afterwards some of the iron was discovered with the ends stuck four feet in the ground. It was very dangerous to be out-doors but luckily enough it happened during the night when the people were in bed. Sometimes it was very violent and at other times it was so calm that you could travel with a lighted candle in your hand.
