- A mason named Johnny Healy who lived somewhere between Listowel and Lixnaw was a great wit and many funny stories are told in connection with him.
A certain man who owned a shop and farm in the townland of- got married to a young lady who had spent some years at a boarding school. She was not satisfied with her new home as it was a thatched building so Johnny and a carpenter were employed to reconstruct the the house. When the work of reconstruction was finished Mrs- had a conversation with Johnny and stated that She was satisfied with everything except that the kitchen was infested with clogs every night. She asked him if he knew of any cure for them.
