The smith shoes, horses and asses. He makes the harrows from wood and iron, and gates from iron.When he is taking off the horses shoes he sometimes takes them in the open air outside the forge door. The smiths are considered very strong armed on account of the constant practice of their work. There is a wooden door on Tom Farrell's forge and on James Gilroy's but there is no door on Tom McLouglins forge.
