    a door and when performing the Stations the pilgrim had to go in on one door and out on the opposite door. No stones or pebbles were used by pilgrims.
    No prayers traditional or otherwise were said by the pilgrims except those mentioned above.
    Visits were paid to the well by people suffering from "running sores and toothaches".
    The water was applied to the affected part. It was drunk and carried away by the sufferers.
    Pilgrims usually affixed pieces of cloth to some of the bushes or trees when the devotions were finished.

    LOCAL TRADITIONS REGARDING ABOVE WELL
    It is said locally that St Patrick rested here when on his journey through Ireland, and people say that he baptized pagans at this spot and when the priests were hunted, they said Holy Mass there, and people went there to pray and to Stations. The old people say that there were a great many blessings attached to devotions at the well, and any sufferer who had belief in the well was cured of his malady.
