    There was once a poor man going to a fair one morning.

    There was once a poor man going to a fair one morning. As he went through a meadow he met a little man with a red jacket and he told him to come with him and he would show him where there was a bag of Gold. The man went with him, and he told him to get a spade and to dig there and he would meet a bag.
    The man dug away for some time. When he met a bag he took up the bag and opened it. Then he saw it was only a bag of sand. He threw out the sand and left the bag there and walked away. "I am sorry I had anything to do with this man," he said.
    On his way home from the fair he again passed the place where he had dug up the bag of sand. The little man appeared again and said, "Now here's a pot of gold." The poor man thanked the little fellow and went away. The poor man was rich for all his life.
