At first of course I took no notice - thought it was probably a cat - and altho' your Mother had told me repeated times before she got sick - of the "Banshee" always crying for anybody in her family who died the (Brian Ruis's) and so forth, I never dreamed of such, that night, However I continued my journey - never thinking - and when I made another few yards, the cry started again and followed me all along until I got to the corner of my own Garden.Altho' a beautiful moonlight night and I being a "soldier" hale and hearty, naturally I was seized with fear, and I shook all over the cry was the lonliest of course. I had ever heard and I didn't know what was what. I hastened into the house and asked "what was wrong at all, and there upon related who I heard and seen.
