    Long ago there were many ship-wrecks along the coast of Beale, as there were no buoys at that time. In one ship-wreck the crew were buried in the land of some man in Beale. Until some years ago there were head-stones over them but now there are none. There were many songs and poems made about these ship-wrecks. This is one called: "The cliffs of Dooneen":
