- About one mile from the village of Ballylongford are the ruins of an old church and graveyard called Aghavallin, situated on the road-side to Carrigafoyle Castle.
The field surrounding it is now owned by Mr. Thomas Bambury, and it is supposed that a pot of gold is hidden there. One day the farmer owner of this field at that time, whose name was Mr. Wallace sent three men out digging it. There were no ploughs then, so all the work had to be done with spades.
