    There are ten forts in the school district.

    forts in Tarmons and two in Dooncaha. The two Dooncaha forts are in view of each other. All the forts in this district are round in shape. There are seven forts fenced with earth and the other three with trees. There is an entrance hole in Fennel's fort. It is said that there is a stone with a ring on the top of it and below in the hole there is supposed to be money. One night a few boys tried to get the money, but they were hunted. There is a lot of stories told about the forts.

  2. Three meals a day people used to eat long ago. The meals were Breakfast, Dinner and Supper. They were eaten at eight o'clock, twelve o'clock and six o'clock. The food consisted of potatoes two times a day and sometimes three times a day. When they had not potatoes they got a square of yellow bread and skimmed milk. People used to work in the morning before breakfast. The milk they used was separated milk. The tables were placed against the wall at meal time. The tables were not hung against the wall. In the olden times people nearly always ate yellow bread. It was made of meal, very little flour and hot water. Long ago people very seldom they
