  1. The old people say that there was an old road leading down to Thornton's Castle about one third of a mile from Castle Browne.
    Middle Clash is called Clashmealcon.
    This Thornton had a maol hound and then that Clash is called Clashmealcon.
    This road is all covered over now and owners of the land when cultivating have found portions of the road.
    The names of the local roads are Drumnacurra
