It was nothing unusual on that night to find a fine white head of cabbage tied to the latch of your door. It was a habit on that night to go to the cabbage plots and pull a head of cabbage and tie it to a neighbours doors.
It was supposed fairies roamed about on this night and no person would be seen out of doors after twelve o'clock on this night.
Neither would a person eat a blackberry after Halloween as it is said the fairies spit on them.
