- The following are some home cures used by the Irish people in former times, and in remote parts of the country up to the present day:-
1. A Common cold in the Chest:-
Cure - To bathe the feet in hot water and mustard, to give patient hot milk in which an onion has been boiled and get them to bed for a few days. If the patient was not improved a "brew" was made by boiling a herb called "wild sage" sweetening it well and getting the sick person to take half a tea-cup full every morning fasting. This "brew" was also used for Whooping Cough in children.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
