    The cure the old people had for warts was the person having the warts used to steal a piece of fat meat and hide it under a stone for nine days. When it was there nine days it was taken home and rubbed on to the warts.

    Another cure for a stye was to rub a gold ring to it nine mornings in succession.
    A cure for a black eye was to beat up the white of an egg and to apply it to the black eye bound with a bandage.
