Ar an leathanach seo
- A great number of travelling people visit this district from time to time. They spend few days in their caravans by the roadside. The women generally go in pairs begging from house to house and selling small things such as laces, pins, statues, etc. They are not very welcome in the village for when they get alms, usually a penny, they are not satisfied - they persist in asking old shoes and clothes.
The men spend their time mending umbrellas, cleaning chimneys and making saucepans. They gather sticks with which they make a fire and on this they cook their meals. Often, too, one can see their clothes bleaching on the hedge beside them.
