- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Warts. To cure warts the person who has them, should "come across a fat brown worm" which creeps on cabbage-leaves. He should find the worm accidentally when picking cabbage in the field, and should not go searching for it. The whole trouble lies in remembering it's use when one sees it.The worm should be rubbed to the wart and then stuck up in a branch of blackthorn tree in such a way that a thorn goes right through its body. As the worm decays and disappears from the thorn so will the wart gradually wither away.Another cure for warts is to get a seasoned rush and to make as many knots on it as there are warts to be banished; then to stick the rush in a manure heap to decoy. The wart or warts will begin to disappear when the rush does so.It was thought that a person could get rid of his warts also, by rubbing his spit to them in the morning when fasting - until the warts go.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
