Eogan asked for pen ink and paper and another half an hour and that he would get through it himself. He there and then composed Caisred na Blárnan[?] which was an entirely a superior composition to that which the farmer had sung and so won the bet. He then tendered to the officer that part of his money which he got from him but he did not accept it. He told the officer that he would not leave the town until he would spend the money on his regiment.
