- Travellers are not so common now as they were long ago but we still have some coming to our homes These travellers are going about for many years Some of them are not very poor and they sell different articles Some of them sell delph, more sell lace flowers brooches Gipsies carry a basket in which they keep their articles Tinkers also come to our homes selling tin cans and porringers People buy of them because they often give good value and therefore they are welcome There are another sort of travellers known as gipsies These sleep in tents along the road and beg food in the daytime - some of them tell fortunes Gipsies take egg, meal, flour, bread, money or anything they are offered The gipsies always travel and in vans Some of them go in families and others in bands The travellers who are best known at our home is Mrs Johnston.
