- Lime burning was an old craft in Ballyouskill. There was a limekiln in Thom Kenndy's field. The people used to make their living out of it. They used to burn coal and sticks and turf. Then they would put a load of lime stones into it. They would light the turf and the stones would turn into lime. Then the people would draw away the lime and sell it.
- Old Marten Magree makes baskets and he is a very Handy man he is able to do all kinds of work. He would make a baskets in about five minutes.
