- One of the greatest storms within living memory occurred on the land of the night of the 26th February and the morning of the 2th 1902.
It had not its equal according to the people since 1839. Homesteads were levelled to the ground not alone had roofs been taken off houses, but the walls were blown to their foundation.
Acres of woods had been torn from the root and in some instances which can be seen to the present had been mown across eight feet from the ground There was very little lost but there were some very marvellous escapes. In one house in this locality which was situated in a wood and occupied by a man and six small children, notwithstanding the fact that the storm blew south-west(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
