Donagh Church is supposed to have been built on the site of a church founded by St. Patrick Domhnadh - Sir Edward Lucas was the landlord of Castheshane, Clontibret, Tyholland and Ardaghy. He resided at Castleshane Demense. His family reigned for a hundred years. Sir edward Lucan was looked upon by the people of his territory as a harsh landlord.
