Next morning my Grannie got a wire to say her brother in Dublin had died suddenly.When the corn is being sowed in the spring-time if a plot is missed right through the field old people believe it is the sign of a death in the family before the year is ended. Mr Nesbitt who lives near us missed a cast in his field two years ago and his wife died before the year was out.
