- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)red fox who scampered away across the grass. Off with myself after him and after a hard chase I caught him by the bushy tail. The creature was frightened and he gasped and coughed pitifully until at last he coughed up a heap of books. "Ooh!" says the king. "Well I took up one of the books and I opened it and what do you think I read there"? "What"? says the king. "That your father was in service by my father". - On the farm of James Maybury - deceased - of the townland of Cahir in this parish, there is an opening to a subterranean passage which is supposed to lead to a liss which I never have been able to locate. The local people say that the floor of this passage is strewn with human bones but of late years no-one has investigated the matter and the mouth of the passage is overgrown with nettles and briars.
There is a story which says that this James Maybury had a fine white cow called "Bawny". Every(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
