He sold them by the hundreds. His sister lived with him and one would make the nails by day and the other by night. He used to have the nails displayed in a gilt-lined "goold" dish.
There was a man living in Ballyteague who used to weave silk. His name was Warrick and old people called him "Warrick the weaver." he would buy the silk thread and weave it and he would have the bales of silk at Robertstown market. To make rushlights get rushes and peel them and put the pith to dry. When they are dry dip them in grease which is kept in a little vessel called a "grisset."
