One time their lived in the town of ballymoney a blacksmith the name of Billy rooney. At one time he was very prosporous one day in the winter time an old man came into him very cold and hungry and Billy warmed him at the fire and gave him a good meal.
When the old man was going away he said to Billy any three gifts you wish for I will grant them to you now. Well said Billy I have an arm chair with in and I wish anyone that sit in it cannot leave it until I and my sledge anyone that catch it cannot leave it out of their hands until I like.
And also my purse any (thing) time I put my hand into it too have money in it.
