- There are three forges in the parish of Glenmore. Two of them are slated and the other is roofed with felt. One of them is situated near the cross roads and also near a stream. It is owned by Tommy Dwyer. There are ordinary doors in them. There is only one fireplace in them all. The people in them never work in the open air. The work to be done in them is shoeing horses, mending ploughs and other farm implements. The articles used in a forge are the hammer, the anvil, the bellows, and the pincers.
