We have a churn at home. It is four feet up from the ground & two feet broad. Top & bottom are both round. It is nine years old. Butter is made twice a week in summer. The butter takes half an hour to churn. When the milk is churned it gets thick & turns into butter. When the glass is clear in the top of the churn you would know that the churn was made. When the churning is finished the buttermilk is removed & the butter is washed thoroughly & then salted.- Bailitheoir
