I oft want music fain would dwell
    On memories off the past,
And thus review the scenes that were
Too bright too fair to cast
Yet still the charm is ever there
    Such Eden hath is been
Since Lil the wide flowers plucked for me,
    One evening by the Deen.
Note.- The Deen is a river that runs throught Castlecomer. It rises in Co. Leix and flows into the Nore. The song was composed by Mr. James Fogorty of Castlecomer who is now dead. R. I. P.
