On the 6th of January 1834, there was a fierce storm. All the cows were lowing a day or two before the storm. Towards evening the wind lowered. Many people were killed in houses. There were cattle and horses killed in the stables.Frost

There was a severe frost in the year 1894. It began on New Year's Day, and it lasted until the 1st of March. There were no hares or rabbits in those days and when the storm came they all came out from the mountains. There was ice two feet deep on the rivers, and lakes and everything was frozen.
