  1. A Story
    Tradition tells us that there were many old monasteries in the district. There is an old church in the Parish of Killeevan. It is said that it was a saint built it hundreds and hundreds of years ago. It is said when Cromwell's army was passing through this part of the county he wrecked this church.
    When it was being built there was a famine in the country, food and water were wanted for the workers and it couldn't be got. The saint had a bulock for drawing sand. The bulock was killed every night for supper, but he would be alive and able to work the next morning. One morning the bullock was lame and the saint asked him what happened him;
