All the old women wore two drugget petticoats bound whith red tape, white knitted stockings, which they spun themselves and a drugget blouse. Then they had a long coat of black cloth with a hood or rosettes on the back to pull up over their heads, when it rained. They generally went in their bare heads.
All the men wore calico shirts, with a linen breast on them. There were tucks down along the front in the linen, and they wore a black tie. They got a suit of clothes woven out of a sheep's fleece of wool. The tweed was made up near Cadamstown. The suit of clothes generally lasted for ten years.
