- Kyle is a townland in the Parish of Clonaslee. It is a small townland. The Irish word, "Cill," means Church, or Graveyard, and Kyle derived its name from the Church and Churchyard that were there long ago. There are no dwelling houses in it now, but years ago several families lived there. The last family to reside there was a Mr. Carroll. The townland is now owned by a family named Mahers of Ballinabug.The last burial took place about forty years ago.
