Before his death he made a request that the night cap which he wore should not be removed but should be buried with him. The people carried out this arrangement. But when he was buried they became curious as to why the old man insisted on having his night cap buried with him.
   After a conversation with a few neighbours and having had some dreams about the night cap they decided to open the grave. One night they set out with spade and shovel to open the grave. Coming to the grave they unscrewed the lid of the coffin and on opening the strings of the cap one hundred and fifty soveirgns fell out. They brought home the money but they could not rest at night as they were haunted by the Bocarue.
   At length they decided to tell the Parish Priest and hand him over the money which was the cause of their trouble. But to their great surprise he would not take the money from them. But he advised them to hand it over to the Co. Council who decided to build a bridge over the river and from that day to this it was called Poor Man's Bridge.
