    of them. There are a great number of wooden and iron crosses there, but these are mostly over childrens' graves.
    There are many stories connected with this graveyard. One is about a woman who lived beside it. Every night, when this woman retired to bed, she would hear the door being unlocked, and all the delph being taken off the dresser, and left on the table. When she got up in the morning, every-thing was in the same place as she had left it the night before. The woman left the house, and it is still said to be haunted, by a spirit from the graveyard.
    The graveyard of Ardcarne is a new graveyard, but there ia an old one beside i. People are still buried in the old one, in some plots which are not yet filled. The new churchyard is a square one, with one part raised higher than the other. There is an iron gate at the entrance, and inside the gate the King-Harman plot is situated. There are many beautiful tombs and headstones in this graveyard.
    Outside the churchyard, there is a Protestant (cemetery) Church, which is still in use. There is a Protestant cemetery attached to this church. There are a few disused graveyards in the parish of Boyle, namely Killbryan, Trinity Island and Church Island cemeteries. The churchyard of Killbryan is situated within the demense of Rockingham, about two and a half miles from Boyle town. The present inhabitants of Rockingham do not remember any burials that took place in this graveyard. There is a ruin of a church beside it. This was supposed to be a Catholic Church, and it is said that it
