- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)a custom to place the key of the door on the finger of the bride in place of a ring.
After the marriage a feast was held in the house of the bride. It consisted of two cleeves of boiled potatoes and a large pot of bacon cut up in small pieces. A plateful of this was distributed to each person present at the wedding. It was also a custom to have a large oatmeal cake as a wedding cake, and each person as he arrived got a small piece of the cake
When the feast was over the door of the kitchen was taken down and left flat on the floor, and the bride and groom would have the first dance on it.
It was a custom in this district long ago to throw old shoes and bed clothes after the married couple as the believe it would bring them luck(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
