- The birds most common in this locality are the blackbird, the robin, and the thrush. These birds stay with us all the time and fill the country with their beautiful song. The blackbird builds its nest on a whin fence. When the young birds come out the parents are kept very busy carrying them food. The blackbird is well liked by the people of this locality on account of its sweet song. The robin builds its nest on a mossy fence. The eggs are white and are hatched well by the parents. There is a story told about how the robin got its red breast.
