- Mar '38 Fairy Forts.
There is a fort in my townland, Tobracken, not far from my father's house. It is circular in shape and has a fence of hawthorn bushes round it.
Nobody ever entered except a man who went astray. My grandmother told me the following story. He heard music in it, so he went in and saw people dancing. The asked him to dance with him and he did. One of the girls, whom he knew to be dead for years, came home with him. He was afraid of his parents to let her in and she went back to the fort again.
Fairies have been seen dancing in it and lights are sometimes seen. Grandmother also told me the following(continues on next page)- Collector
