Once a month she went to Dublin for herrings, salt, blue, starch, candles for her shop. She carried her customers eggs in a cleeve on her back which often weighed one hundred. She would arrive in Dublin at the end of the day with a pair of womens stockings knitted. She would get her goods and start back next day and have another pair of womens stockings completed. This is a distance of sixty three miles both ways.
Great Jumpers. Patrick Carroll, Gardenstown jumped the mountain river which was sixteen feet wide. Tom Donohoe and Pat Hanley jumped a six feet gate.
Great Dancers. Mrs. Connor and Mrs. Kelly, Lisanaria, Lanesboro, Roscommon are great(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
