When people get married the wedding is usually held in the bride's house. During the night the boys of the village dress up and go to the wedding.
They remain on all night dancing and singing. They get plenty of drink. These boys are called Strawboys.
When the wedding is over the husband and wife go on their honey moon. They stay for a week. When they are comming home it is lucky to come on Friday.
This is an old saying connected with the marriage.
If married in blue you are sure to be true.
If married in green you are ashamed to be seen.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
